Inflammatory bowel disease affects people early in life and stays with them for decades. Every improvement changes what that future looks like for real patients.
Utrecht University, Medicine, then a PhD at Erasmus MC in 2008, followed by clinical work as a gastroenterologist from 2015, and a professorship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease since 2023.
My work centres on Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, PSC-associated IBD, and the optimal use of biologic therapies, always aiming to translate findings into better care.
